Marvin Gene Kuhlemier, 88 of Rock Falls died Sunday November 9, 2025 at Rock River Hospice & Home.
He was born on November 17, 1936 in Milledgeville, the son of Verlen and Gladys (Daehler) Kuhlemier. He had served in the US Marine Corp from 1956-1958. Marvin married Barbara Joan Ottenhausen on October 3, 1959 at the 1st Christian Church in Rock Falls. He was employed for 33 ½ years at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co retiring as a pipefitter. Marvin later worked as a carpenter for Farmers Lumber and Supply in Polo; the Sterling Walmart; he made furniture, clocks, pictures and crafts in wood from his shop. He built his own home along with 10 others in the surrounding area. (one in Rock Falls, three on Thome Road and six in Leho Acres south of Rock Falls).
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; daughter Theresa Kuhlemier of Westchester; daughter in law, May Kuhlemier; grandchildren: Alan Kuhlemier and Sharon Kuhlemier; and several nieces and nephews and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Gene and two brothers: Evan and Glen Kuhlemier.
Visitation will be Thursday November 13, 2025 from 4-7 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
Memorials may be given in his memory to Rock River Hospice & Home.
