Mary "Pinky" Pyron, 73 of Rock Falls died Monday July 28, 2025 after battling cancer at Rock River Hospice & Home
She was born on August 23, 1951 in Sterling the daughter of Robert and Marian (Medema) Ivey. She married Mark Pyron on January 10, 1976 Sterling having celebrated their 49th anniversary. Mary had worked in the Bakery at Sterling County Market for many years as was often referred to as the "cookie lady". She had a deep Christian faith and a strong love for her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Mark; sons: Chad (Angela) Pyron and Clint Pyron both of Rock Falls; daughter, Shanda (Michael) Shook of Sterling; grandchildren: Rayne Pyron, Hunter Pyron Kaden Pyron and Carter Shook; her brothers: Danny (Sandi) Ivey and Jamie Ivey; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece.
Graveside services will be Friday August 1, 2025 at 10 AM in Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling with the Reverend Dalmus Meeks officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory.
Memorials may be given in her memory to Rock River Hospice & Home.
