STERLING – Mary L. Thomas, age 70, of Rock Falls passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at CGH Medical Center after losing her battle to cancer.
Mary was born on August 13, 1954 in Chicago the daughter of Warren and Phyllis (Helt) Franks. She married Lawrence Thomas on February 15, 1978 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2017.
Mary loved playing games on her tablet, listen to music, watch her favorite game show network channel, but her favorite thing to do was play Yahtzee all night long with her best friend Elaine.
Survivors include, two daughters, Sara Thomas of Rock Falls and Tiffany Mabin of Park Forest; three sons, Michael Thomas of Rock Falls, Kevin (lucy) Patterson of Killeen, TX and Lawrence Thomas, III of Las Vegas, NV; three sisters, Barb Harms, Rose (Chuck) Bell both of Sterling and Paula Peppers of Rock Falls; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marion Williamson and Judith Franks.
Visitation will take place from 1:00 – 3:00 PM Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Cremation rites will follow.
