We are sad to announce the passing of Micheal E. Tomczak age 74 on Friday March 8, 2024, at CGH Medical center. He is reunited with his parents John and Jennie (Franks) Tomczak, siblings Judy Bowers, John Tomczak and Paul Tomczak.
Mike was a native of Rock Falls he was born on April 11, 1949. He was employed by Gigs pizza for many years. Mike loved attending many football and basketball games at RFHS. One of his biggest joys was taking tickets at the basketball games with Randy Gallentine.
Mike was a quiet man but really enjoyed getting out and playing slots. "Might as well" he would say. He was also a die-hard White Sox and Chicago Bears Fan.
Mike will be greatly missed by his sister Rose (Jack) Giesfeldt, sister-in-law Jan (John) Tomczak: Nieces Wendy (Jody) Breit, Michelle (Roger) Miller, Jennifer (Michael) Tucker, Teri Giesfeldt and Marcy (Scott) Lenox: Nephews PJ Giesfeldt and Cory (Julie) Kendall. A very special cousin Suzy and Dante Perino. Several great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew.
Our last goodbye will be a gathering of family and friends on Sunday March 17 from 12-2 followed by a sharing of memories and stories per Mikes request at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite sports memorabilia.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the Rock Falls High School Athletic Department.

Rosie and family friends so Sorry to hear about Mike's passing I have great memories of Mike playing basketball with him when I came to Illinois to visit my grama which was next door he talked often about his family last time I saw him he called me trouble with a smile and a laugh then the teasing was on he loved to teas all the memories will be with me rest in peace Mike kathy in AR
