Robert Sisson Obituary
Born: December 3, 1948; Sterling
Died: April 27, 2021; Winfield
LYNDON – Robert E. Sisson Sr., 72, of Lyndon, died April 27, 2021 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
He was born on December 3, 1948 in Sterling, the son of Delbert William and Alberta I. (Otten) Sisson. He married Willa Allison on November 26, 1966 in Sterling. Bob had worked as a millwright at Northwestern Steel and Wire for 31 years when he retired. He then worked for Fritch Heating and Cooling in Tampico. Bob was an active member of, and had served as chaplain of, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2783 in Rock Falls, and this year would have been installed as the state vice president. He was active for many years in the local youth Little League and Babe Ruth Leagues. Bob had served as a volunteer with the Lyndon Fire Department for several years.
He had enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and travel.
Survivors include his wife, Willa; their children, Candie (Rick) Henderson of Lyndon, Rob(Kendra) Sisson Jr of Prophetstown, Kellie (Jack) Cochran of Rock Falls and Sonia Sisson of Rock Falls; his half sister, Dawn Burkhalter of Freeport; seven grandchildren, Chad (Keelin) Henderson, Chasity (Jake) Leal, Shauna (Ben) Partridge, Thomas (Ashley) Cochran, Tanasha (Dillon) Collette, Kyle Sisson and Teanna (Tyler) Evans; 11 great-grandchildren; and his uncle, Neal (Linda) Otten.
He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert William Sisson and his mother, Alberta Otten Herrera; his brothers, Delbert Sisson Jr. and Neal John Sisson; and his nephew Chad Sisson.
On Saturday, May 22nd, 2021, the public is welcome to attend an Fraternal OrderEagles service at 1 p.m. at the Rock Falls Eagles Club followed by a luncheon at 1:30 p.m. A time of sharing and celebration of Bob's life will begin at 3 p.m.

It is shenwith my sincerest sympathy I say goodbye to a dear friend of 60+ years. I will miss the times we could set and reminisce those days gone by, the shenanigan's we used to get into, the families we raised! I will hold dear those memories and reflect on them often. RIP dear friend!

I always looked up to Bob as a mentor in umpiring he taught me a lot about umpiring and one thing I can still here him telling me is you will always work behind the plate because new umpires need to be consistent and establish a strike zone and until you get that strike zone established you won't be working the bases. I enjoyed are talks on umpiring and having a cold one with you once in a while. REST IN PEACE Bob you will be missed
