Roger S. Buckaloo was born June 25, 1936 in Bethany, MO to Sidney C. and Catherine M. (Schafer) Buckaloo. His family moved to Darlington, WI, and later to the family farm near Dixon, IL. He passed away May 29, 2025, in Weston, WI.
He married the love of his life, Virginia M. Klatt, on Feb. 5, 1955, and the couple enjoyed 59 years together before her passing in 2014. They raised their family in Rockford, IL, before moving to Stevens Point, WI, about 40 years ago. He spent most of his working career with Woodward Governor Co., starting in the stock department and retiring as manager of the hydroelectric department. Roger enjoyed traveling the country, and the world, during his years as a hydro service representative.
Roger's family was always at the center of his world. He leaves behind his sons, Terence (Julie) Buckaloo and Clinton (Mary) Buckaloo, both of whom carry forward his legacy with love and dedication. He also leaves three grandchildren, Chris Buckaloo and Trudy (Brandon) McGill of Paris, TX, and Jeff (Heather) Buckaloo of Stevens Point, WI; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Additionally, Roger is survived by his siblings, Neal (Tiina) Buckaloo of WA, Carol (John) Terry of IA and Marilyn (Tom) Harris of VA.
Roger was predeceased by his wife, Virginia, his great-grandson, Austin Buckaloo, and brother Bryan Buckaloo.
A celebration of Roger's life will be held at a later date. Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Weston is assisting the family with arrangements. You may sign the guestbook at www.ascendweston.org.

My heartfelt sincere condolences to the loss of Roger. A lot of great memories of corresponding with Roger when I would see him at the Republican Party of Portage County, WI. Meetings and when I would see him out at various establishments in Polonia,and Ellis, WI. I always enjoyed discussing and learning about hydropower generation and the numerous places that he traveled to make sure that the generation system would perform properly. Of course I found it very interesting to learn about his earlier years in Dixon, IL as well as discussing affairs and politics of which he was very knowledgeable and right on with the way things are happening nowadays. Roger always treated me like a son and I always made it a point to go talk to him when I would see him out. Roger, thank you for the memories and knowledge gained from corresponding with you!
