Sandra L. Rice, age 70, of Sterling, died Friday, March 1, 2024 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.
Sandra was born on April 2, 1953 in Sterling, the daughter of Malcolm and Lura Lee (McGregor) Rice. She was a 1971 graduate of Milledgeville High School and was employed at Borg Warner in Dixon for 36 years, retiring on April 2, 2013. Sandra enjoyed bowling, quilting, and reading and was a member of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls.
She is survived by two daughters, Stephani McGregor of Charlotte, IA and Jennifer Hurd of Peoria; one daughter-in-law, Jennifer Matney of Peoria; one sister, Micki Rice of Milledgeville; one brother, Russel Rice of Omaha, NE; three grandchildren, Abigail Lanxon, Jade Lanxon, and Victoria Davis all of IA; and two step grandchildren, Draven Johnson and Lexus Matney both of IL.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 First Avenue, Sterling. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial will conclude the services at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
A memorial has been established.
