Sharon A. Hanabarger, 78 of Sterling died Sunday May 26, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 19, 1945 in Sterling, the daughter of Oakley and Ruth (Hinrichs) Whitebread. She graduated from Sterling High School and married Ronnie Hanabarger on June 26, 1965. He died February 15, 2011. Sharon had worked at Frantz Bearing Division in Sterling. She enjoyed camping at Timberlake, gardening, feeding her humming birds and raising her Yorkies. Above all she loved attending and going to her children, and grandchildren's school and sport events and family times together.
Survivors include her daughter, Kendra Hall of Davenport; her sons: Kory Hanabarger and Kary Hanabarger both of Sterling; her brother Kent (Teri) Sathoff of Sterling; five grandchildren: Justin (Megan) and Tanner (Ashley) Hall; Austin, Kaitlyn and Brody Hanabarger; nine great grandchildren: Kallin, Coleton, Aria, Brantley, Breckyn, Landyn, Denver, Logan and Kamilah.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and great granddaughter Korah Scott.
Visitation will be held on Friday May 31, 2024 from 10 – 11 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, followed by the funeral service at 11 AM, with the Reverend Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial will conclude at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling.
