Shirley A. Harrison, 90 of Amboy passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025 at the Serenity Hospice Home in Oregon, IL surrounded by her family. She was born in Morris, IL on January 17th 1935, the only child of Orville and Mary (Hohenshell) Fleetwood.
Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Amboy High School, it's there where she met the love of her life, Cecil E. Harrison. They were united in marriage on May 11th 1957 at St. Patrick Catholic in Amboy and began their 65 year marriage on "The Farm".
Shirley worked for the Lee County Farm Bureau, George Larson Insurance Agency and after her children were raised worked in the cafeterias at the Amboy Schools, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. Her greatest and most rewarding job was that of a devoted farmer's wife, mother and grandmother.
Shirley's life was simple, revolving around the things that matter most, Faith and Family.
She enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens and was an amazing cook and baker. She was also an avid sports fan often winning the families NCAA pools. She found no greater joy in life than supporting her children and grandchildren in their activities.
Shirley was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Amboy, St. Patrick's Women's Organization and the American Legion.
She is survived by her 6 children, Janice (Buck) Fenwick, Barbara (Jack Leffelman) Harrison, Curtis (Linda) Harrison, John (Susan) Harrison, Lisa (Brad) Goy and Bradley 10 cherished grandchildren, Ben (Lisa) Fenwick, Delaney(Jake) Teasdale, Tyler Fenwick, Grant Harrison, Meghan Harrison, Drew (Nichole) Goy, Dillon Goy, Dr. Colton (Jourdan) Pate, Cade Harrison and Noah Harrison, 4 beautiful great grandchildren, Oliver and Case Fenwick and Isaac and Emma Teasdale, several in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley is proceeded in death by her parents and her husband of 65 years.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday October 20, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Amboy. Visitation will be Sunday Oct. 19, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy with the Rosary at 3:30 PM. Visitation will also be from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the church on Monday Oct. 20, 2025.
Memorials have been established to the St. Patrick's Catholic Church renovation project and to the Serenity Hospice Home in Oregon.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Franklin Grove Living and Rehab Center, staff at OSF St. Katherine Medical Center in Dixon, and the Serentiy Hospice Home in Oregon for their exceptional care of their mother in her final days.
