Pastor Siegfried Schwirblat, 69, of Rock Falls, died Sunday, December 29, 2024 at CGH Medical Center, Sterling.
He was born to Fritz and Erna (Focken) Schwirblat on September 30, 1955 in Waterloo, IA. He married Betty J. McCraney on July 15, 1978 in Waterloo, IA. He Served 20 years in the U.S. Navy as a proud Sea Bee.
He attended Anne Arundel College in Arnold, MD, got his Associate's degree at Rock Valley College in Rockford, Bachelor's Degree at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, and his Teaching certificate and Rockford College in Rockford. He taught high school science for 15 years in the alternative education program in Belvedere and Rockford. He served as a pastor at Orange Ville UMC and Afolkey UMC, and at the time of his death was serving at Rock Falls UMC.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughters: Shayla (Jeff) Mueller of El Cajon, CA, Selena (Dean) Bonne, of Compton, Heidi (Charlie) Collins of Silver Creek, GA and Oriana Gaines of Rock Falls; his son, Seth Schwirblat of Rock Falls; his brother Gary D. Schwirblat of CA; 8 grandchildren, 2 bonus grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 bonus great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Richard K. Schwirblat and 1 great grandchild.
A gathering of friends and family will take place on Saturday January 4, 2025 from 10 to 11 AM followed by the memorial service at 11 AM at Rock Falls United Methodist Church. Reverend Dr. Brian Gilbert, Superintendant of the Prairie South District of the United Methodist Church will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Rock Falls United Methodist Church in his memory. Arangements entrusted to McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory.

I am sorry that I could not attend Sieg´s service.
I had planned on it but came down with sick.
Sieg and I served on many Emmaus teams together. Sorry I could not make it.
