STEPHEN L. JACKSON, 83, of Fulton, IL, died Sunday, August 24, 2025, at his home farm.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family graveside service will be held at Erie Cemetery in Erie, IL, with Mr. Ken Renkes officiating. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established.
Steve was born September 5, 1941, in Geneseo, IL, to Mason L. and Arlene V. (Egert) Jackson. He attended the rural Erie grade schools and graduated from Erie High School. On June 18, 1960, he married Marilyn K. Brandt in Erie and they shared their lives for over 51 years before her passing on February 4, 2012. He later married Marlene F. Bielema-Keisel on August 31, 2013, in Fulton, IL. Farming was at the heart of Steve's life, and he worked the land in the Erie, Garden Plain, and Fulton areas for his entire career. He loved being outdoors-whether in the fields or simply mowing his yard, which he kept pristine and perfectly manicured.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene; one son, JD (Debra) Jackson of Fulton, IL; one stepson, Derek (Lisa) Keisel of Westerville, OH; two stepdaughters, Misty (Chad Alderks) Keisel of German Valley IL and Amber (Darrell) Dornbush of Erie, IL; three grandchildren, Taylor (Kyle) Ryan, Jay (Brittany) Jackson, Tanner (Kassi) Jackson; four step-grandchildren, Kye Alderks, Molly and Kassie Dornbush and Lillian Keisel; six great-grandchildren, Stella and Cooper Ryan, Mason and Beau Jackson and Leah and Emery Jackson; one sister, Linda (Edward) Johnson of Fulton, IL; one brother, Allen Jackson of Rockford, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marilyn; one son, Scott Jackson.
