ROCK FALLS - Teresa M. Murray, age 94, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Monday, September 29,
2025 at Morningside of Sterling.
Teresa was born on April 27, 1931 in Harmon, the daughter of Charles and Theresa (Henry) Kent. She married Charles Murray on May 8, 1976 in Dixon. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2022. Teresa spent a lifetime serving the community at Blackhawk Lanes, Emerald Hill Country Club and Trailside Package and Lounge in Dixon and Rock Falls. She was a former member of the Rock Falls Eagles Club and Sterling Moose Lodge. Teresa was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include one daughter, Vicky (David) Lee of Mukwonago, WI; two sons, Nick (Kim) Walters of Rock Falls and
Michael (Diana) Walters of Sterling; one daughter in law, Jackie Kent of Texas; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, William Walters and Richard Kent; two brothers and four sisters.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM on Monday, October 13, 2025. Memorial service will follow
at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jon Pope officiating. Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
