Thomas Hoye Obituary
Thomas "Tom" Hobart Hoye, 92, of Dixon, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022. He worked for various companies before his retirement in 1991. Thomas was Vice President of Jewel/Osco, A&P, and ShopRite.
Tom was born June 23, 1929, in Racine, WI, the son of Hobart and Hope (Elwell) Hoye. He was married to Beth Shoaf of Grand Detour in the early '70s. Tom then, married Marie (Smith) Kranhenbuhl on November 7, 1992, in Dixon. He served in the United States Navy and was stationed at Great Lakes Navel Station. From the young age of 11, Tom had a passion for magic. "Magicians In Heaven" gained its newest member. He was a 72-year member of Dixon Elks Lodge #779 and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was also, a 92-year member of the "Fun, nice guy club". Tom will be remembered by so many, for so many reasons. God bless you Tom and thanks for the love you've left on our planet.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Marie Hoye of Polo, four sons, Thomas (Judith) Hoye of Delafield, WI, Steven Hoye of Lake Wales, FL, William (Becky) Hoye of Batavia, Peter Hoye of Winter Haven, FL; over a dozen grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Hoye of Waukesha, WI; and one sister, Elizabeth "Liz" Walton of Britt, IA.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.

My Dear Grandfather was such a kind man. He was a hard worker & did many good deeds in life & for Children at the Hospital. He was a real magician. He loved his family dearly, I did not know the last time we spoke on the phone would be the last, Nor the last time we had lunch together out in Dekalb at the Skydiving place would be the last meal we shared together. My heart is broken now I will never see him again. Until we meet again my friend. So long for now Rest in a paradise.
