MILLEDGEVILLE - William David Borth, 100, of Milledgeville, died on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Allure of Prophetstown.
Bill was born December 24, 1924, in Flat River, MO, the son of Chester and Hallie (Keeny) Borth. Bill was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served in WWII. He married Ruth Schryver on November 26, 1964, in Milledgeville. She preceded him in death on June 9, 2018. Bill was employed at Penberthy in Prophetstown for 25 years. He was an avid golfer, even playing into his 90's.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Phyllis (Steven) Jewell, of Tampico, and Susan Lorke, of Lyndon; one stepson, Mark Ahrens, of Maplewood, MN; sisters-in-law, Carol Schryver, of Emerson, and Mary Schryver, of Sterling; brother-in-law, Harold Schryver, of Shannon; seven grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters-in-law, Sandy and June Schryver; and three brothers-in-law, Ames, Merle, and Larry Schryver.
Visitation will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milledgeville. Funeral service will follow at 11:00am, with Pastor Kathy Burkheimer officiating. Burial will conclude at West Genesee Cemetery in rural Sterling. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
