William "Rocky" A. Hasbrouck
Born: April 21, 1949 in Cass Lake, MN
Died: October 6, 2025 in Sterling, IL
William "Rocky" A. Hasbrouck, age 76, of Rock Falls, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, October 6, 2025.
Rocky, a native American Indian, lived in Rock Falls for about 70 years working at various jobs but is most remembered as a reporter for the Sterling Daily Gazette, owning and operating a video rental and distributing business, and was a beloved teacher.
He loved his family, friends, and the children and teens he taught over the years.
Rocky is survived by his wife, Debra Brotheridge Hasbrouck of Rock Falls; his daughter, Keri Hasbrouck Hower of AZ; his brother, Gordon Chivatero of MN; his sister, Roxanne Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chauncy, and mother, Priscilla Hasbrouck Burton; one son, William Troy Hasbrouck; one brother, Lee Hasbrouck; one sister, Lynette Hasbrouck; and two nieces, Kelly Mann and Becky Mann.
A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Harvest Time Bible Church Rock Falls. Anyone who loved Rocky is welcome to attend.
A private family viewing and graveside service will be held that morning.
A memorial has been established.
