Annabelle Jean Gibson December 28, 1927 May 3, 2014 - SAN JOSE, CA - Beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, Annabelle Jean Gibson, 87, of San Jose, CA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Jean was born to the late Walter and Belle MacFarlane in Bronx, NY and was the eldest of two children. She was raised in New Rochelle, New York, where her family was very active in the local Scottish community. Jean was set up on a blind date with John Jack Gibson by both their mothers. She and Jack were married in 1950. Jean and Jack raised their two sons in New Rochelle. When their sons were grown, they embarked on a new journey to Savannah, GA where she and Jack spent 30 wonderful years. Jean loved to garden and spend time with friends. She was a proud member of the Islanders, a women's social group on Wilmington Island. After Jack passed away in 2010, Jean relocated to San Jose, CA, where her youngest son and his family live. Jean was a very kind and loving person who touched many lives during her years in NY, GA, and CA. We will all miss her more than we can express. Jean is survived by her son David (Andrea) Gibson and her six grandchildren: Kathrine, Kristi, and Kyle Gibson (Jim) and Drew, Hannah, and Chelsea Gibson (David). She now joins her loving husband of 60 years, Jack, son, Jim, and brother, James, in eternal peace. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Willow Glen Funeral Home, 1039 Lincoln Ave., San Jose, CA.
