Charles, Johnny, & Cherolyn, Uncle CJ was truly a one-of-a-kind Uncle. I will always remember his smile and great sense of humor. And I have so many fond memories of him from when I was a kid and enjoying all the camping trips our families took together over the years. And he was such a “Sugar Daddy” to all the nieces and his grandkids. And Ron really appreciated him coming to his sports practices and games through the years since Daddy wasn’t there to support him. He will surely be missed by all of us. The photo in the paper was great!! It did not mention by name his 2 brothers, Theron – who predeceased him 35 years ago, boy time goes by so fast -- & Jack, who really loved and looked up to him and it did not mention the eight nieces and 1 nephew (kids of Theron and Jack, plus all of their children and grandchildren) who loved him. He had so many “survivors” You will never know the impact that CJ’s life had on our lives. When daddy died, it was as though he had simply laid his body down on the bed, like a suit of clothes, -- he went to sleep in Waycross and woke up in to heaven. I think it was that way with CJ, too. He simply laid his body on the bed and moved to another neighborhood. I can just imagine the re-union he and daddy are having now. My daddy loved him so much and our families were always so close!!
