Daniel Vaughan Obituary

Daniel Scott Vaughan
Savannah
Daniel Scott Vaughan, age 27, passed away on July 14, 2021.
Daniel was a 2012 graduate of Islands High School. He had a love of cooking and for years was employed in numerous fine dining venues in Savannah and California. He had a passion for music of all genres and enjoyed attending concerts, playing piano, and singing. Most of all he loved his family.
Daniel was a member of the Order of Arrow of the Boy Scouts of America and a member of Troop 16. He achieved his Eagle Scout rank in 2011. His environmental project earned him a county wide proclamation.
Born October 12, 1993, Daniel was a member of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church. Raised to know and love God, Daniel was surrounded by friends and family who loved him and loved the Lord. He was a member of Emmaus and Chrysalis Communities.
Since Daniel's death, many have written and spoken about how special he was and how fortunate they were to have known him. They note his shy smile and the warmth, depth, and intelligence behind it. Daniel had piercing good looks – tall, dark, and handsome, and on the inside a sensitivity, humility, and compassion for all. He had an intense knowledge of matters close to his heart. Daniel cared about people in the purest of ways. He loved them for who they were and asked nothing in return. No matter the situation, he was always a gentleman. Most of all, they remember the sheer pleasure of his company; how free they were to be themselves around him and how much they will miss him.
Daniel is no longer in pain and finally at peace. He is set free, smiling and strong, waiting for the day he can reunite with his loved ones.
He is survived by his parents, Sallie and Scott Vaughan; a brother, William Vaughan; and beloved uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Betty and Oscar Crosby, and paternal grandparents, Lillian and Ollie Vaughan.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be given in his memory to Isle of Hope United Methodist Church, 412 Parkersburg Rd., Savannah, GA 31406 and To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA), P.O. Box 2203, Melbourne, FL 32902 or twloha.com/donate.

Daniel was always the nicest person I had ever met in school. We had many classes together and talked frequently he was always so lively, and so funny. One of the most genuine souls I´ve ever met in my lifetime, my family and I offer our condolences.

I wish I had the right words to say to make things all better and take the sorrow and sadness away, but they would only be words. I did not know Daniel but from the pictures I have seen through the years that you sent me and on Facebook, I know he was beautiful like you. I´m so sorry and my heart is aching for you and Scott and William and all of your family. I know we have not seen one another in a long time but I have been keeping up on Facebook and think of you often. I pray you will be comforted by the Lord. You are loved.
