Linda,Its been almost 30years that we have known each other and you have been during those years like a sister I never had. I remember the anguish your mom went through and the tears you all shed not knowing where your dad was. When you called and told me they found dad, I cried. I cried for you and the Phillips family, because this would finally put to rest all the fears and doubts you had for all those years. I am so glad he is home and with mom.

I Love you Linda, Donna, Davida. You three will always be close to my heart.

David Phillips was one of my instructors in T-38's at Moody AFB, Ga in in 1964-65. He took me on my T-38 cross country to Laredo AFB, TX where we crossed the border to sample an alien culture.

The next year he came through Clark AB, Philippines for a survival school on his way to Bien Hoa AB, South Viet Nam. We played golf and ate and drank too much.

I passed through Bien Hoa a few weeks later and he was gone.

Captain David Phillips loved his family and flying. He was an excellent officer and pilot and later a friend.

May he rest in peace. His children should certainly be proud!!!

I have often wondered why some returned and others didn't. I have even wondered why we were there in the first place. I have tried to make sense out of what didn't make sense. I have sought answers in places where there were no answers. I have thought why them and not me? Then I learned that God makes no mistakes. Nothing, absolutely nothing happens in God's world by mistake. You were chosen because at that moment, God said, "it was time to come home."

"Welcome Home"
