Dorothy Christine Webb Pitts - MURFREESBORO, TN - Dorothy Christine Webb Pitts, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee was born June, 9, 1921 and passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lyle T. Pitts and parents; Shelley Cantrell and Andrew Jackson Webb. Funeral service will be 11:00am Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bro. Charles Mullins will officiate. Burial will in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her son, Lynn and beloved daughter in law, Judy Pitts, granddaughters; Sara Pitts and Emmy (Mark) Wilcox, great granddaughters; Harper and Lyla all of Savannah, GA, and daughter; Luanne (Gary) Waltemath of Nashville, TN. She was the oldest of eight children and her strong will provided the stamina to battle ovarian cancer for four years. She was active in her community and served as a volunteer for various charities throughout the years. She was a long time member of Kingwood Church of Christ, the Flower Growers Garden Club and Middle Tennessee Hospital Volunteer Staff. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice in her memory. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at WOODFIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL.
