Dorothy Stinson Obituary

Dublin - Dorothy Louise Smith Stinson, 88, died Tuesday, September 30, 2003. Mrs. Stinson was a lifelong resident of Laurens County. She was the daughter of the late John Covington Smith and the late Ida Warren Smith. She was a member of the First Christian Church and was a retired bookkeeper for Stinson Tractor and Implement Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray Stinson; a brother, John C. Smith Jr.; sister, Thelma Laura Jones. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, James M. and Nancy Stinson of Dublin; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Reginald Collins of Vidalia; granddaughters, Melanie and David Parker of Vidalia, Melinda and Cecil Thompson of Vidalia and Kristen Stinson of Macon; great-granddaughters, Morgan Cannon, Meredith Parker and Brogan Thompson all of Vidalia. Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home and Friday afternoon from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Mrs. Stinsons home, 1638 Hwy 441 N. Pallbearers: Dr. Lynn Holmes, Cecil Thompson, David Parker, Danny Stinson, Terry Stinson and Don Branch. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 3, 2003 at First Christian Church with Rev. Billy Glosson and Mr. Allen Thomas, officiating and Committal by Dr. Lynn Holmes. Burial: Northview Cemetery.
