Rev. Dr.Jametoria Burton
May 31, 2024
Today, they take special time to remember Reverend Edward Ellis. He was a dedicated pastor, servant of God, loving husband, family man, community servant, and mentor. He both protected and promoted the history and legacy of First Bryan Baptist
Church. He christened my then 10-month old baby as his daughter Joya and son in love Richard Dinkins became her godparents. I will never forget Rev. Ellis. He and Mrs Ellis have been an integrated part of our adult lives. Sent with much warmth and appreciation,
Rev. Dr. Jametoria and John Burton. Jacksonville, Florida.

Rev. Edward Lamar Ellis, Sr. was a light among people in the community he served and across this nation. His voice represented hope and his words emanated the love of Jesus Christ. On this day of his homegoing celebration service, may the light, hope and love he left behind serve as his enduring legacy to family, friends, church and community who benefitted from his life of service to humanity. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." Yes," says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; for their works follow with them." Revelations 14:13 May God bless, keep and comfort the Ellis family. With much love and prayer, The Burton Family of Jacksonville, Florida

To Mother Lillian, Joia, Sharon, Edward and to the rest of the Ellis Family, We are praying for the Ellis family and our hearts will continue to be with you this week in particular. We have shared so many memories together! I thank God we were able to see Rev. and Mrs. Ellis over the Christmas holiday this past December 2019 and share that special moment in church to witness him pray at the end of service. We also share the wonderful memory of Rev. Ellis giving the blessing of our daughter, Joya, as Joia and Richard became her Godparents at First Bryan Baptist in1996. He will always hold a very special place in our lives. We love the Ellis family like our own family and will always remember Rev. Ellis in our hearts for years to come. May God Bless you all and may you be comforted by the love of our heavenly Father. Rev. Ellis is now absent from the body and present with the Lord. With Much Love, John, Jametoria and Joya Burton, Jacksonville, FL .
