Edward A. Fitzgerald III - SAVANNAH - Edward A. Fitzgerald III of Savannah, Georgia passed away on November 15th, 2016, at age 66, after a four-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was a Savannah native, born to parents Edward A. 'Bubba' Fitzgerald Jr. and Ethel Lavinia King Fitzgerald. He is preceded in death by both parents Bubba and Lavinia, and his sister, Susan F. Parker. Edward was a loving husband, father, brother, and son. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary J. Fitzgerald, his son Ted Fitzgerald (Kyle Roosevelt), his sisters Colleen (Bill) Henry and Peggy (Troy) Waters, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Edward started his career working as a tugboat captain on the Savannah River. His life led him to several other careers but he finished and retired from Savannah Bar Pilot Association after many years of service. He enjoyed many hobbies which included spending time on the water, visiting the gun range, taking rides in his beloved ERA Cobra, and most of all, spending time with his wife and son. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
