Eugene "Gene" McDonald died peacefully in his home December 14, 2019 and joined his parents Frank and Eleanor McDonald and his son Keith McDonald to rest in eternal peace.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Diane, his daughters Denise McKinney and Nicole McDonald, son-in-law Jeff McKinney, grandchildren Ryan, Aiden, Joseph, Julia, Graeme, Ellie and Bethany, brothers, Frank, Tommy and Brian.
He was born March 3, 1964 in New York. He graduated from SUNY Maritime College in 1964.
Gene was a loving and dedicated family man and friend, loved by those who knew him.
A resident of The Landings for 17 years, he was a generous man who dedicated his time to committees and service originations involved in community outreach.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church, followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at The Landings Plantation Club.

I was thinking of Gene the other day. As the Christmas season has arrived, I was thinking of the company Christmas party at the Sheraton Hotel in Leominster MA.
Gene got up in front of all the employees along with Chuck Holleman and Malcolm Poole and did the snow dance. This comically hoping and wishing for a snowy winter season and the company ice melting products to have a banner year.
It snowed very hard that evening!
Gene was a fun and creative leader.
