Evelyn Meeks

Mrs. Evelyn Meeks - LYONS - Mrs. Evelyn Meeks, 91, died September 24, 2008, at Toombs Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Meeks, one son, Jimmy Meeks and one daughter, Mary Hansil. She was a homemaker and also employed by Lyons Manufacturing for many years. She loved flowers, sewing and was a member of the Community Senior Citizens and Hammond Baptist Church. Survivors are: three sons, Lamar Meeks (Sharon), of Statesboro, H.C. "Buddy" Meeks, of Lyons, Herman "Bo" Meeks (Becky) of Vidalia, five daughters, Doris Copeland of Macon, Eloise Atkinson, of Warner Robins, Margie Hester (Troy) of Belton, SC, Mildred Tomlinson, (Woody) of Vidalia, Annette Von Gratzen of Brunswick, Jane McLendon, (Butch), of Lyons, sixteen grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening, September 25, 2008, from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. Funeral Services for Mrs. Evelyn Farmer Meeks will be Friday, September 26, 2008, at 2:00 from the Chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Bryant officiating.
