Florence Adams Obituary

Florence Adams - SAVANNAH - Mrs. Florence J. Adams was born on St. Helena Island, SC on February 5, 1913 to the late Mr. John Henry and Hattie Ladson Blake. At an early age, she moved to Queens, NY where she worked as a cosmetologist. In 1980, she relocated to Savannah, GA. Here she became a member of Wilmington Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board for thirty years. Janie, as she was affectionately known, was called home on Thursday, January 6, 2011. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all as matriarch, she left a legacy of strength, wisdom and love for all who knew her. This gentle soul will greatly be missed. Florence leaves to cherish 2 children, 1 daughter-in-law, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 3 siblings and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
