Frann Tucker Lance - SAVANNAH - Frann Tucker Lance, 65, of Savannah, Georgia, wife of Roland Lance, died Saturday morning, May 2, 2009, at her home under the care of Hospice Savannah. Born on April 24, 1944, in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of J. B. Tucker and Lucille Griffin Tucker. Frann attended public schools in Savannah and graduated from Herschel V. Jenkins High School in 1962. While attending Jen kins she was a member of the Pep Squad, the Girls Athletic Association, President of the Senior Y. Teens and Holiday Ball sponsor. After graduation from Jenkins she attended Georgia Southern University, where she graduated in 1966 with a BS in Elementary Education. While attending Georgia Southern Frann was a member of Gamma Sigma Epsilon sorority. She also met her future husband, Roland Lance, whom she married on April 30, 1966. Frann was later employed by the Chatham County Board of Education for several years as a 6th grade teacher at Charles Ellis School and was later employed by Georgia Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Frank Tucker and Mrs. J. W. Woods, her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Griffin; two aunts, Sybil Denitto and Irene Tucker, and her father and mother-in-law, Clinton E. and Theda Coleman Lance. Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Roland Lance of Savannah, Georgia; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Tucker of Claxton, Georgia, and her devoted companion, Winston. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Monday evening at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue. The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the graveside, Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, conducted by The Reverend Dr. Samuel W. Watkins.
