Helen Hagan Broderick

1924 - 2018

Heaven recently gained one of the most precious angels. No doubt, she was welcomed with great applause. Helen Hagan Broderick, born July 19, 1924, passed away on August 27, 2018, nearly one month after her 94th birthday.

A native of Bulloch County, Helen was incredibly proud to say she grew up on a farm. She was the daughter of the late Josephine Elizabeth Davis Hagan and the late John Wesley Hagan.

To say, "they don't make them like her anymore" is an understatement. Shewas more than just a mother andgrandmother; she was her family's rock, an inspiration, and the model of a hardworking, Christian woman.

Helen worked her entire life to care for her six children, both at home and in the workforce. She never knew how to make a small meal, which worked out well as her six children expanded into 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She also loved to travel. She visited every location, including overseas, where her oldest son was assigned during his time in the Army.

She served her church and family without complaint and was consistently volunteering to help the community. Barbecue fundraisers, cookbook committees, the Happy Hearts seniors group, church office administration,and summer Vacation Bible School were some of her most frequented areas.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Sylvester Broderick, and her son, Walter Lee Broderick.

Survivors include her daughter Helen Clements and her husband Joe; her sons:Colonel John Broderick II (USA-Ret) and his wife Debbie, Bob Broderick and his wife Joy, Tom Broderick and his wife Martha, and Donald Broderick; 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Midway United Methodist Church.
