Sadly only seeing this now. I am planning a trip to Savannah this month and wanted to look up my old friend Howard only to learn that he passed almost 4 years ago. Howard was the quintessential southern gentleman who cared deeply about his community and those in it. I think the expression "he never met a stranger fits" him perfectly. I first met Howard when he was with the C&S REIT and I was with JPMorgan in New Yawk, as he would say. We were on opposite sides of the negotiating table, but Howard was always thoughtful and respectful, regardless of our differences, and always worked for a fair and common solution. What I remember most about Howard is how he befriended me and my family when I moved from New Yawk to Atlanta to join the C&S National Bank....inviting me into his home to meet Mary and little Howard and Mary, to his clubs, and his church. Howard remained a loyal friend during my good times, and bad in Atlanta, and for that I will remain forever grateful and will keep his memory, and his example, close in my heart.
A class act like none other...rest in peace old friend..

Mary and kids, so sorry for your loss. I know you will see him again. I met Howard in researching Lebanon as it was the ancestral home of my wife's family, the Andersons of Savannah. He was gracious, kind and a loving man. He invited us to visit, and spent many hours walking the property and sharing stories of his childhood there. We had connections through the Atlanta tech community as well, and shared being in the Navy. We had so many connections he truly felt like family. I wish I could still speak with him, and look forward to the day we can reconnect. He was a very special person. Mary if you see this, know we are thinking of you and Howard.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Mr Morrison. A very good man gone too soon.
It was great knowing this kind and generous man. I suppose God felt that he needed another great thinker in Heaven.
My heartfelt condolences and prayers to the Morrison Family during your time of grief.

We all have lost our Rennaissance Man. Howard Morrison was bigger than life and there will probably never be another like him. Howard was one of the most inspirational people I have ever met. I have always thought that this quality enabled him to get so much done. We all entered Howards band of creative creatures! He inspired me to become interested and Involved in Savannah for which I will always be grateful. Howard spoke at my husbands Memorial Service and I will always remember his compassion. He was momentous and I can only imagine tomorrows beautiful service. Golden. Barbara Ruddy

Mary,
As you know, Howard and I served on Digitel's Board for years and became good friends. He was a great man and a wonderful man. I know he is on his way to heaven to meet his maker. God bless you during this difficult period and show strength to the family.

I got to know Howard during my energy research days at Georgia Tech and always enjoyed his company. I had the pleasure of being one of his guests at the Hibernian Society Banquet in Savannah which was a real thrill. My condolences to all his family, and I know he will be missed greatly.
