James Calhoun Obituary

Mr. James E. "Jim" Calhoun - BLACK CREEK - Mr. James Edward "Jim" Calhoun, Sr. age 52 died at his home Saturday Feb. 14, 2009. Mr. Calhoun was a 29 year completion engineer for Gulfstream Aerospace. He enjoyed fishing, grilling out for his family and coaching his son's Little League Baseball team. Survivors include his wife of 20 years Christina Wiggins Calhoun of Black Creek, children Kristin Calhoun, Jimmy Calhoun, Jr. and Kenneth Evan Calhoun all of Black Creek; sisters Debbie Estes of Alabama and Terri Lewis of Savannah; father-in-law and mother-in-law Larry and Geneva Wiggins of Pembroke; and aunt and uncle Joan and Buddy Sexton of Newnan. A memorial service will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday at the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Wiggins officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. My dearest Christina, Jimmy Jr, Kristin, and Evan-
We are praying for you all to heal after Uncle Jimmy's untimely death and want you to know we are always just a phonecall away. We are deeply saddened by Uncle Jimmy's death and wish so many times that we could have had the opportunity to spend more time with him. He was a wonderful man, a sweet uncle, and I know a loving father. We love and miss him dearly.

My deepest condolences to the Calhoun family.I worked with Jim for many years at Gulfstream and he was an excellent,respected,and hardworking electrical engineer.A good man who made a difference and always had an agreeable,pleasant disposition ,and always had a smile. The entire mechanical engineering team will miss Jim ,our favorite "sparky" (electrical engineer).

Dear Jimmy,

Im sorry to hear about your dad. he was a kind and caring father to you, your sister, and to evan. if there is anything you wanna talk about like in school or at your house. i am more than happy to help you threw the tough times. Your dad will be grealty missed, he was also loved by his family and others. Jim was a great role model in the community and he was a great friend. He was always very kind and polite to me and others. he will be terribly missed.

Dear Christina,
My wife Denise worked with Jim during the early days of the Completion Center in the Avionics group ('80 - '83). I was recognized for 30 years in 2005 same as Jim was for 25 years.
