To The Ferguson Family:
What a wonderful testimony to the life of "Murdock"! As you can see by the many comments about him from around the world, he had influence that you had no idea about. Know that Murdock is loved and be comforted in knowing that our GOD is still in control.
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge HIM and HE shall direct thy path". (Proverbs 3:5-6)

We're all just passing through this place in time, but someday our journey will end in a place that's so Divine. This life we're living in, is but a mere purgatory for us, knowing one day we will obtain that ultimate eternal rest.

Forever Gone but Forever in Our Hearts
The caring prayers, the shaking shock
This awful news my world did rock.
No one knew how it happened or why.
We were all so sad; it made me cry.
How unfair it should have happened now
Won't someone ever tell me how?
His tears had dried, his pain had healed
And God chose this time for his life to yield.
It's later now, while we've moved on
We miss him as though he had just gone.
We'll never forget all the good he did,
Even though, to him our farewells we've bid.
We love him still, we miss him yet;
And on this I'll forever bet.
If he is truly in our hearts,
From us he'll never be truly apart.
Gone So Soon
You took chances
Once too many times.
As a child you thought -
"Oh no, never me."
Life is a gift,
Given and taken at some
Unknown time.
Your time came too soon -
Your life was over in a flash.
The fun you shared,
The joy you brought,
All just a memory -
Behind us.

Murdock:
It seems as though it was only yesterday that we were at Shuman and Ms. Meadows was screaming at you to get out the gym while the girls were practicing or when you were on the court in Presidental Plaza throwing rocks at my back window for me or Tangi to give you some water, and it seems like it was only hours that you walked the halls of "The High" and called me "Yella". Never would I have thought that anyone would get this news. You have been an inspiration to those that are to follow and they will follow the foundation that you have laid, and a precious gem that many will try to duplicate. Most importantly you will be greatly missed and remembered by all.
To the Ferguson Family:
May God be with you and continue to give you strength during this time of mourning. God will place on you no more than you can handle and he gives accordingly. Be strong and know that you can do "All things through Christ". My deepest sympathy.

To the Ferguson Family, you have my deepest sympathy and I share the pain with you. It was so devastating when the news hit my ears because I had just saw him like thirty (30) minutes before he died, and trust me, that hurt. I didn't even think that at that particular moment, I would never see my dawg again. I cried so bad, but I came to realize that "Doc' is in a much better place now. He can now smile upon us and look after us on earth. To "Doc's" mother and to his siblings, joy comes within the morning and remember, your scars & wounds won't heal fast, but know that James is in a better place now. Who Rock? Murdock!

Murdock you will be missed truely my friend. You have a left a lot of broken hearts behind. But for every heart that feel likes its broken that is God's way of get'n right to the root of the heart and working on it how he wants it to be. See it is when we are ailing that we can be healed. I remember Murdock through my uncle Hollis. Murdock would be at my uncle's apartment on East Broad St and he was always repectful and pleasant. To Tynisha, Trell and the rest of the Ferguson Family,
It saddens my heart to see another one of our talented stars be taken away from us. I remember working at Godfathers Pizza along time ago and meeting Murdock he was like you never heard of me( he was trying to get a discount) I was like sorry I don't really follow basketball but then my husband made me go to a game and I witnessed what a talented young man he was. Years later he always remembered me as the girl from Godfathers and I remembered him as the guy who scored all over my old school and I just had to give him his food for free from then on. He is in a better place now. RIP Murdock you are and will always be a Savannah Star.

THE LAST QUARTER
WHEN I HEARD OF THE SUDDEN LOSS OF YOUR LIFE, MY HEART CRIED OUT LOUDER THAN ANY TEAR THAT I COULD SHED. NEWS CAME BY WORD OF MOUTH SO QUICKLY THAT ON JANUARY 2, 2007, YOU WERE CALLED FROM THE BENCH TO SCORE IN THE FINAL GAME OF LIFE. NOW "DOCK" THE BALL THAT YOU CARRIED WAS STOLEN AWAY FROM YOUR HANDS & UNFORTUNATELY THEY CHEATED YOU OF ALL THAT YOU HAD TO OFFER. BUT, OUR REFEREE "GOD" KNEW JUST HOW TO REWARD YOU WITH THE ULTIMATE GOAL & NOW YOU WILL FOREVER WALK & TRAVEL WITH HIM SAFELY WITH NO MORE FOULS TO YOUR PHYSICAL BODY OR SOUL. YOU WILL FOREVER BE MISSED BY THE VISION BUT NEVER BY THE MIND. ALTHOUGH EVERYDAY PASSING WILL SEEM HARDER TO COPE, WE ALL KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN A BETTER PLACE. TO THE FAMILY & FRIENDS THAT SHARE MR. FERGUSON, WE MUST CONTINUE TO UPLIFT ONE ANOTHER IN PRAYER AS ONE UNIT. PLEASE CONTINUE TO HOLD ON TO GOD'S UNCHANGING HAND & DO BELIEVE TO KEEP THE FAITH THAT HE HAS A REASON FOR THIS SEASON. I HAVE KNOWN JAMES FOR MANY YEARS & HOOPIN' @ THE HIGH WAS NOT HIS ONLY ACCOMPLISHMENT, BUT AS INDICATED THROUGH THIS GUESTBOOK & VISITATION TOO, HAS HE BROUGHT FRIENDSHIPS & FAMILY BONDS BACK TOGETHER AGAIN. I WANT TO SAY SO MANY THINGS & TELL OF MANY STORIES THAT I KNOW OF "MURDOCK" PERSONALLY IN EVERY GOOD WAY, BUT THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SPACE NOR TIME FOR ME TO DO THAT. To the Ferguson family and love ones, Please accept my condolences,
I am so sorry for your loss. In times of grief it is very hard to know what to say that would be comforting, especially since I am a stranger to you. When we lose loved ones in death so many emotions and thoughts flood the mind.
This is just a little something to help you through it all.
"HOPE"
Hope is not merely an invention of the grasping soul!
Hope is alive in all that still can reflect it's never-ending glory!
Hope is in a summer's breeze, it's thrives in what you see and feel and even in that which you can not!
Hope is a boundless wonder that drives a failing heart!
Hope gives reason to enjoy beauty and to cherish laughter!
Hope gives reason to live when none shuold be granted!
Hope is the work of greater being!!!!

I'm sorry to hear about the lost of Murdock. I've been knowing him since the old high I meet him my freshman yr there. I remember always asking him to show me how to do that crossover move and he always nah that's my secret weapon when it's time to win the game. But I enjoy being around him b/c he was so cool and always had me laughing from checking people all the time in class. But my love and condelences goes out to the Ferguson Family.

Wow, what words can describe how anyone is feeling at this time. That is the way I felt about "Murdock" What words or expessions can explain what type of Man he has become. Many have gotten the chance to know "Doc" as a Superstar on and off the court. He was on another level of life. Live for today and you will love tomorrow. No words can express the way I felt or feel about "Doc". God gives us all a chance to spend time with our loved ones and I am so glad that he allowed me to know "Doc" in more ways than one. Much love to the Ferguson family.

To the family, their is one thing that I know and that is GOD IS TRULEY A HEART HEALER. I saw my two son's "murdock and Ben." As Ben so eliquently put it. "Ma this is your son too, but he is just from another mother." Our children played basketball together, and became the best of friends. I see my son weeping for his brother. Which he is truly missing.

To The Ferguson & Kennedy Family, my prayers are with you, look to the Lord and he will comfort you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way to the place where I am going." Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will know my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.

To the family of James Ferguson. Words can't express how I felt about Murduck, he was like a brother to me to me. I first met Murduck when he was a freshman at Savannah High while I was coaching there. Not only was he a great basketball player but if you knew Murduck you knew had a great personality as well. I just want to say to the family that my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of bereavement, and to cherish the times you had with him. May God bless you. Cepeda ( Coach ) Scott
