James Hagin Obituary

Mr. James Durelle Hagin - Richmond Hill- Mr. James Durelle Hagin, 77, died on Friday, June 9, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a short illness. He was born May 3, 1929 in Effingham County to the late Ina M. and James D. Hagin. Durelle received a degree of Bachelor of Science with a special major in Exact Science from Georgia Teachers College of Statesboro, GA. He retired as a Brigadier General of the Georgia Army National Guard after 33 years. He was First Vice President of the Chatham Artillery. He was director and president of Planters Telephone Corporation for several years. He was part owner of Springfield Farm Supply for 10 years and Marketing Director of Interstate Paper Company for 10 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a former Sunday School Superintendent. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, James D. and Ina M. Hagin and a brother, William D. Hagin. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Shirley Maner Hagin; daughter and son-in-law, Carolynand Brad Lucas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Debbie Hagin and William and Lori Hagin; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeffery, Willie and Scott Hagin and Sarah and Jonathan Lucas; step-grandson, Andy Sanford and two great -granddaughters; twin sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Joel Newsome; brother and sister-in-law, Hugh Russell and Thelma Hagin and a sister -in-law, Rita Hagin. Funeral: 3 p.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church. Mr. Hagin will lie in state from 2-3 p.m. at the Church. Interment: Lanes Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Stilson. LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AND THE LOSS WILL BE WITH YOU ALWAYS; BUT WITH FAITH AND YOUR LOVE AND TRUST IN GOD, HE WILL CARRY YOU ON THOSE DAYS YOU FEEL YOU CAN'T GO ON. GOD WILL CARRY YOU THROUGH THOSE HARD TIMES AND IT WILL BE A SHORT TIME UNTIL WE ALL MEET AGAIN.
