James Key Obituary

Mr. James Percy Key - AUGUSTA - Mr. James Percy Key, 62, died Sunday at the Medical College of Georgia. The native of Bulloch County was a 1963 graduate of Portal High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Perry Key and Rosa Lee Saunders Key of Portal. Surviving are two sons and daughters in law, James Anthony and Denna Key of Columbus, NC and William Eugene and Natalie Key of Greer, NC; five grandchildren, a sister, Linda Sue Key Turner of Metter, GA; a brother, J.W. Key of Cooperville, GA; a niece; four nephews; one aunt, Elizabeth Smith of Portal; one uncle, Ernest Saunders of Portal and several great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:00pm at the Payne's Chapel United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Lanier, Garry Smith, Allen Thigpen, Larry Saunders, Dale Smith and Don Thigpen. The family requests that memorial contributions be made the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. I am so saddened to learn about the loss of James. I have been away from Portal for many years but always enjoy catching up with old friends when I can.
