To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

The A-T Solutions Indoor Lacrosse middle school boys team played a double header today against two previously unbeaten (3-0) teams and came from behind for two outstanding last minute victories. Today was all about the Marine Corps. The first game was against Cocalico and dedicated to EOD Hero Marine Gunnery Sgt. Michael J. Clark. The boys were down by two goals with 5 minutes left. After a time out they refocused and scored 5 unanswered goals to win the game 9-7.
The second game came only 5 minutes later and was against the first place team Warwick. The game was dedicated to EOD Hero Marine Staff Sgt. Joel P. Dameron. The team was down by three goals midway through the second half and seemed to be running out of gas until ATS ILC midfielder Patrick Dill ripped off a goal just past the midfield line. The defense and goalie Drew Lord shut down Warwick and allowed their offense to score three more goals and win the game with seconds left. The team chanted “Marines!” before each game, at half time, and after their victories. May God Bless these two brave Marines.

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

I just recently learned of this web-site so this tribute to Joel comes late but it comes from my heart.

It is with the deep sadness that I ask the family and friends of SSgt. Joel P. Dameron to accept my most sincere and heart felt condolences. Your tremendous loss is shared by the members of the EOD family but more especially by the members of the Marine Corps EOD family. Even those who have gone before, the ones that you don’t know and in all probability will never meet. We sincerely appreciate the sacrifices of Joel, his family and friends.

Joel is a hero. He is not hero because of where he died or how he died. He is a hero because of how he lived. Even though he knew the dangers involved in his job he continued to do it. As an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician his duty was to locate, disarm and dispose of IED’s and other explosive ordnance. This is an extremely hazardous undertaking and he knew that, he had done this before. He had also lost many friends and comrades performing this duty. This is what makes Joel Dameron a true American hero. A hero that I admire, respect and hold in the highest regard.

I never had the honor of meeting or serving with Joel, I had retired from the Marine Corps before Joel was born, but I knew him. I knew him because Joel was a Marine Corps Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician. They are indeed a special breed among a special breed. THE MARINES! It would have been a tremendous honor for me to have had the opportunity to work along side of Joel.

I had the honor of attending the ceremony at which Joel was honored by having his name was placed on the EOD Memorial at Eglin AFB. This is an honor which is only extended to EOD technicians who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. His name was placed there by and as an honor from his EOD family. It is there for all to see and he will always be honored by the visitors to the memorial.

I know the pain parents feel when they loose a child. I lost a son 19 years ago. There is no greater pain and it defies description. It is a pain that never goes away. It is a pain that will never end. It is a pain that is all consuming. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers always. May God Bless and keep you today, tomorrow and forever!

Some people have to ask if they made a difference in the world but;
MARINES DON’T HAVE THAT PROBLEM.
President Ronald Regan; 1985

Psalm 23

1

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

3

He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

6

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!

My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

To Joel's family and friends-

My family and I are praying for you and your family during this difficult time. We send our deepest empathy as we lost our Marine on 11/30/05 in Fallujah. We are comforted to know that our Marines are serving their country with such honor and bravery. We are so proud of our Marines and all of our other service men and women for all that they have done and continue to do to keep us safe and to give us the freedom we have that so many take for granted.

They are true Heroes and need to always be remembered for their selflessness and sacrifice to better our world. We will forever be united in the loss of our heros. We are so sorry for your loss and hope our words will ease some of the pain, and maybe fill some of your emptiness.

Hugs From Heaven

by Charlotte Anselmo

When you feel a gentle breeze

Caress you when you sigh

It's a hug sent from Heaven

From a loved one way up high.

If a soft and tender raindrop

Lands upon your nose

They've added a small kiss

As fragile as a rose.

If a song you hear fills you

With a feeling of sweet love

It's a hug sent from Heaven

From someone special up above.

If you awaken in the morning

To a bluebird's chirping song

It's music sent from Heaven

To cheer you all day long.

If tiny little snowflakes

Land upon your face

It's a hug sent from Heaven

Trimmed with Angel lace.

So keep the joy in your heart

If you're lonely my dear friend

Hugs that are sent from Heaven

A broken heart will mend.

We [EOD]are a small community and take the loss of one of our brothers as his immediate family does. He reminds us of our own mortality, and that young men like him are our nations prized possessions. Loosing ones life as Joel did is the ultimate sacrafice one can give. His memeory will forever be known in our community, he will be honored on our wall of hero's, and his name will be spoken with reverence when his story is told. Joel had many years to give to EOD and the Marine Corps, and many years as a husband/father to his wife and children. We his brothers suffer in silence. His voice, image and contributions live in our memory. He will be some one's driving force to carry on and pick up where Joel was forced to leave off. When we all arrive to that place god is waiting for us, Joel will have paved a path for us to follow. My sincerest condolences and thoughts go to his wife, children, parents, and siblings.

Dear Family and Friends of SSgt Joel P. Dameron...I served with Mortuary Affairs Detachment from Feb-Sept 2005. All I have seen has never left me as speechless as when I heard the news from my wife Misty that we had a Family member who had fallen in Iraq. Words fail to express how one can feel at a time like this. My utmost Respect and Honor go out to the Wife, Children, Parents and siblings of my fellow Marine Corps Brother along with my deepest of condolences. May the Lord leave us all with a great memory of Joel in our hearts and in our lives. If there is anything at all that my family and I may offer in order to help comfort in any form or fashion please do not hesitate to ask. (770 926 7074) May God bless you all, "Semper Fi"

Logyn, Riley, and Baby Layla;

Marshall and Family:

Words simply cannot express the sorrow I feel for you all. Each of you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Ronald Reagan once said that "Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a difference in the world, but the Marines don't have that problem." Take comfort in the fact that Joel DID make a difference. He is truly a Hero, in every sense of the word.

Logyn, I love you dearly. I think of you and the children daily and pray that God will give you the strength and courage to face the upcoming days. Everyday, you tell Riley and Layla how courageous and special their Daddy was. You tell them that their Daddy was a true hero--so brave that God called him to service in heaven.

Joel: Thank you.

May God Bless and Comfort you all.

Love,

Tracy Pace
