John Talley Obituary

John Gary Talley - SAVANNAH - John Gary Talley, 84, died Monday, July 19, 2012 in Richmond Hill. Mr. Talley was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, son of Ralph and Rhunella Monk Talley. He moved to Savannah in 1936 and was retired after 44 years with Union Camp Corporation. He was a longtime member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and active in Sunday school. He was a member of Landrum Lodge No. 48 F.&A.M. His wife of 59 years, Nell Parker Talley preceded him in death. Mr. Talley is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Michael Etheridge of Midway and granddaughters, Lori and Brandi Etheridge both of Savannah; sister-in-law, Bettyann Talley of Savannah; four nieces and one nephew. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2012 at Ardsley Park Baptist Church with Reverend Buddy Clay officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers will be J.B. Blackburn, Allie Archer, Pat O'Connor, Bobby Harn, Dave Chafin and Steve Hartley. Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Remembrances may be made to Ardsley Park Baptist Church, 1 E. 55th St., Savannah, GA 31405.
