Joseph William Lupus

1992 - 2018

Joseph "Joey" Lupus, 25, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.

The Savannah native had a love for baseball that was evident to all that knew him. He graduated from Calvary Day School in 2011 where he played baseball for the Cavaliers along with the Savannah Heat and Savannah Catz baseball teams. While earning his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Armstrong State University, Joey was a member of the Armstrong Pirates baseball team. Joey joined the Savannah Metropolitan Police Department in 2015 where he was recently assigned to the Southside Precinct Crime Suppression Unit.

Joey was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Ann Lupus.

Surviving are his wife, Taylor Russell Lupus; his father and stepmother, Mark and Amber Lupus; his sister and brother-in-law, Ashley and Brynn Fitzpatrick; two nephews, Andrew and Hunter Fitzpatrick; his stepsister, Paige Healy; his stepbrother, Joshua Healy; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, baseball brothers, and brothers and sisters in blue.

The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. May 26, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Temple with Reverend Derward Poole officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Cory Joseph Wilson Memorial, Inc., 108 East Montgomery Crossroads, Savannah, GA 31406.

Honorary pallbearers will be his baseball brothers from Calvary Cavaliers, Armstrong Pirates, Savannah Catz, and Savannah Heat baseball teams.

The family request that anyone who would like to celebrate Joey's positive energy wear socks on Friday and Saturday that match his fun, vibrant, and unique personality that we will always remember.
