Joy Shuman Obituary
Springfield
Joy Ann Smiley Shuman, 63, passed away March 4, 2021 at East GA Regional Medical Center.
The Jesup native retired from Rutland Tire and had worked at Dr. Hamby's office and always enjoyed working. She enjoyed playing music when she was younger, playing bingo with her mother, and was very family oriented. She was a loving caretaker for everyone.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Smiley, Sr.
Survivors include her husband, Ricky Shuman; her mother, Joyce Arlene Anderson; children, Joshua Wade Collins, Justin Michael Collins, Rick Shuman (Dana Smiley), Brandi Smith, Kimberly Murray (Kiley), Joshua Shuman (Marly), Jordan Shuman (MacKenzie Payne); 17 grandchildren; brother, Ray Smiley, Jr. (Kenna).
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.

My heart is broken. I walked into Rutlands to get my regular time up, only to find my favorite person has passed away. She made my Christmas reef. I gave her my phones for her and her husband...it was funny the ordeal we went through to get those set up.
I use to go get us all lunch or breakfast while I waited for my car...it was just something we all shared.
I will miss her smile, her kindness and get laugh.

Joy Ann, words can’t express how much I and so many people loved you. My head and heart are so full of memories of you when we were young and in high school at ECHS. We hung out many times at your house, with friends, going to ball games in your Camaro! Your family was like my family. You will be missed and I will pray for the comfort of those you loved. Fly High Angel. I know you are watching over everyone now as you always did.
