Julia Byrnes Lingenfelser - SAVANNAH - Julia Byrnes Lingenfelser, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, December 11, 2015. She is survived by her children and their families: George and his wife Kathy and their son Matthew, Tim and his wife Susan and their children John and Kirby, Julianne Cheaves and her husband Rocky and their children Brian and Julia. She is also survived by her baby brother Jack Byrnes, his wife Mary Ann, her brother-in-law Thomas White, Sr. and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George Lingenfelser, Senior. They were married 43 years and lived in Savannah. But first and foremost, she was a Tybeeite who would love to talk about playing with her brothers and sisters on the beach as well as frequenting her father's sandwich shop on Old Tybee. She graduated from St. Vincent's Academy in 1945 and was an active alum. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great aunt. She was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and also volunteered at St. Mary's home. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Wilmington Island, with Rosary at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
