May God's grace and mercy surround you all at this time of bereavement. Verne was a dear friend and ray of light to those of us at Memorial who not only had the honor but the pleasure to work with her... She was always a source to go to,a mentor to confide in as well as that girlfriend you laughed your head off with! She will be missed by those of us who consider our selves as her Memorial family.

I am saddened about hearing the word of Laverne's death. I worked in NICU for years with her, she trained me along with Jeanie and Terri. She knew her job and the hospital. I learned a lot during the years from her. She was Memorial as far as a Unit Secretary is concern. She will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her, God Bless You my friend!!!

We fondly referred to each other as "cousin" whenever we saw each other, as we shared the same maiden name. May her beautiful memory bring a smile to the faces of those who loved her. When you saw Laverne at the front desk, you knew it was going to be a good day. Not only did she do her job, but she also took care of her coworkers. She kept our unit running.
