Lillie Gantt Obituary

Lillie Mae Gantt, 68, died December 22, 2003 at her residence. She was born in Savannah, GA, and was a retired Dietitian Supervisor at Memorial Medical Center. She was a member of Little Bryan Missionary Baptist Church, a member of the church mass choir, Pastor's Aid Board and Youth Advisor Board, and a graduate of Woodville High School class of 1954. Survivors: daughters, Sheila M. Bradley (Ronald) of Jacksonville, NC, Cynthia Wilson (Kenneth) of Albany, GA, Sandra Y. Moore (Richard I) of Savannah, GA, Wanda Polite (Raymond) of Savannah, Samantha Herrington (Gregory) of Savannah; son, Sammie Bernard Gantt (Diane) of Savannah; step-sister, Betty Jones of Savannah, GA; brother, Frank P. Ready (Jean) of Youngstown, OH; sisters-in-law, Margaret Johnson (Willie) of Savannah, GA, Sarah Mathis of Savannah, GA, Roberta Edwards of Savannah, GA; brother-in-law, Theodore Harold Gantt (Carolyn) of Savannah, GA; 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. We were unbelievably surprised and shocked to hear of Mrs. Gantt's passing. She was always so alive, warm, accepting, and friendly. We pray God's best for you, the family. Please carry on her legacy of grace, and know that as you trust in Jesus Christ, you will see her again in that wonderful place where life finds its total fulfillment.

To Samantha and Family, I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. I remember when your family moved next door to my family in Nottingham, we had some fun times together laughing and playing with each other. Remember to keep your head up be strong, your Mother has only gone home to be closer to her heavenly Father, she is dancing with your Father her Husband having a grand old time.

Granny as I called Sis. Gantt since I've known her has always been a light of what a genuine Christian should be. I know this has been a terrible lost to the family and our church family as well. Granny I loved you so much, You helped raise me and was there for me through thick and thin. There is no person in this world who could ever make me as happy as you did. Through the tough times you kept my head up and told me that everything was going to work out for the best. You always told me to keep my head and remember what it is that I wanted out of life, and that is what has made me the woman that I am today.
