Louis Bird Obituary

Metter - Louis "Luke" Bird 76 died Friday in Savannah. He was born in Gastonia N.C. and lived all of his life in Candler County. He was a farmer, carpenter and had worked for Colon Taylor (Taylor & Bird) for over 30 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper and was a great (Pa Bird) granddaddy. He was preceded in death by a daughter Lynn Bird. He is survived by his wife, Madge Prince Bird of Metter; son and daughter in law, Ricky and Janice Prince of Tifton; daughter and son in law, Jean and Tommy Haywood of Tifton brother J. Dwain Bird of Valley Al.; sisters, Myrtle Olliff of Orlando, Edna Norton of Valdosta, Margaret Harris of Miami; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday 2 p.m., at the Morgan Family Funeral Home. Burial: Coolspring Cemetery. Morgan Family Funeral Home 441 W. Broad Street Metter, GA.
