Ouida LeSueur Obituary

Ouida Johnson LeSueur - SAVANNAH - Ouida Johnson LeSueur, 91, of Savannah passed away May 26, 2011, at Memorial Health Medical University. She was the daughter of the late Nathan Kelsey and Minnie Allen Johnson. She was a housewife and resident of Savannah for 65 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Julian E. LeSueur, Sr. Mrs. LeSueur was born in Jasper County, GA and attended Middle Georgia College in Milledgeville before marrying and moving to Savannah. She was an avid quilter and a member of the Geechee Quilters and Happy Quilters for over 20 years and helped organized several quilting groups. She was involved in the making of over 250 quilts, many of which were sold to benefit such non-profit organizations as the Ronald McDonald House and the Senior Complex. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church for over 50 years, and was a member of the Cox Circle of Love. Surviving are two sons, Julian E. Jr., of Hilton Head Island, SC, and Savannah, GA, and James N. of Waldo, FL, and two grandaughters, Grace LeSueur of Charleston SC, and Jaye Kathleen Bateman of Dallas, TX and one great-grandaughter, Jayna Bateman, and two grandsons, Robbie and Ryan Pace. Visitation: 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Meguiar, officiating. I have wonderful memories of Aunt Ouida. Her quilts are beautiful heirlooms to be cherished. She was a loving, caring woman and is now with her Lord and Savior and at peace.
