Dear Jo--Alice and I extend our sympathy for now and for the long months of support you have extended to dear 'Dick'. You may not recall, but Dick is the reason we long ago chose Savannah as our home. May '63 found Dick and me chatting on our Philadelphia doorstep--he there to attend a scientific meeting, me on the teaching staff of a nearby med school. "Come on down and look us over!" SO, Dick, the the past forty years has been a great life and we're fortunate you chose to share it with us!

I am sorry to read of Dick's passing. I haven't seen him since I retired but we had many great times together in the operating room. I am a retired surgeon. He was very much a friend and will be missed by all you knew him.
