Robert Edwin "Bob" Hartman, 74, of Greenbrier, TN passed away at 11:09 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021 at The Arbors, in Springfield, of Agent Orange Parkinson's. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 13th at 2:00 p.m. at South Haven Baptist Church with Nathaniel Robinson, Pastor Donald Marlyne, and officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with family serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday at the church.
He was born July 19, 1946 in Peoria, IL to the late William Edwin and Mary Kathleen McCallister Hartman. Bob was a 1964 graduate of Washington Community High School in Washington, IL, where he played football. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in Vietnam with the First Aviation Brigade. He attended school at Fort Rucker, AL as a flight Operations Specialist. He married Patricia Ann Bland on March 13, 1969 in Savannah, GA. Bob retired from Caterpillar as a Logistics Systems Engineer at Griffin Power Systems after 42 years of service.
Bob was a member of South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield, TN and a former member of Berean Baptist in Griffin, GA, Bible Baptist in Hampton, GA, Averyville Baptist in East Peoria, IL, and First Baptist in Dunlap, IL. His greatest pleasure for his last ten years in Griffin was his prison Bible study at Robert A. Deyton Detention Center in Lovejoy, GA. Bob enjoyed raising rabbits, fishing, archery, and hunting, especially deer hunting.
Bob is survived by his wife Ann, a sister: Maureen Grimes, two brothers: Daniel (Vicky) and Larry (Sandra) Hartman, a daughter: Krista Robinson (Chris) of Greenbrier, two sons: Joel (Kelly) Hartman of Tremont, IL, Jered (Vicki) Hartman of Paxton, IL, and by seven grandchildren: Nathaniel Robinson, Lauren Hartman, Renee Hartman, Matthew Robinson, Joseph Robinson, Clayton Hartman, and Tyler Hartman.
