Ronald William McElhaney

1940 - 2017

Born in Findley Township, PA, October 4, 1940. Died September 7, 2017, peacefully at home with family present. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, he later earned a Masters in Engineering Management from Drexel University. He began his career with Rohm and Haas Corp that culminated in positions as General Manager of Subsidiaries in Lima, Peru and Caracas, Venezuela. He then started a successful business as owner/operator of Management Recruiters of Savannah until his death. One of his most cherished feats was making 3 holes-in-one at the 4th hole of the Savannah Golf Club, of which he was a member for over 30 years. He was tenacious in all aspects of his life - he never gave up regardless of the challenges he faced.

He is survived by his beloved partner, Patricia Emrich, and his 4 children, Ron Jr. (Donna), Carol Schaedel (Tyson), Susan Steenrod (Rick), and Doug ( Kathleen); eight grandchildren, Abigail, William, Sydney, Megan, Conner, Cameron, Clare, and Anne; brother, Jim (Jerry) and sisters, Doreen Marino (Larry) and Barbara. He was a beloved brother, father and grandfather.

A memorial service will be held 1PM Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church . Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers remembrances can be made to Hospice Savannah, Inc., PO Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31406 or the charity of your choice.
