Sandra Collins

Sandra B. Collins - CHARLESTON, SC - Sandra B. Collins was called to rest on Saturday, May 25, 2013, in Charleston, SC. She fought a courageous battle with cancer and yet won! She was cognizant and confident of this eternal yet simple promise and truth- to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8) She is preceded in death by her mother, Corrie Lee Martin and father, Joseph Troy Martin. She leaves to honor and cherish her memory one daughter, Jeanne Renee' Chambers-Mitchell; two grandchildren, Jordan and Joshua Mitchell, and two adopted sons by proxy, Darwin Smalls and Marlin Smith, whom she raised as her own children. Surviving siblings are one brother and sister-in-law: Harold W. Barney (Gladys); six sisters and two brother- in-laws: Lula Mae Lewis (Robert), Florrie Lee McGee, Gwendolyn Campbell, Carolyn M. Hilton, Jeannette Sims, and Dorothy M. Brown (Jacob); as well one cousin Lois L. Robinson, and a host nieces, nephews, and cousins. Less we forget, Sandra also leaves a second family - a host of caring friends and co-workers at Ralph H. Johnson VA Hospital, who kept constant vigil during her illness without fail. We will ALL miss our dear sweet sister. Funeral arrangements are not available at this present time.
