Theodore S. Ted McKenzie Jr.

Theodore S. Ted McKenzie, Jr., of St. Simons Island, died Sunday February 22, 2004 at S E GA Health System-Brunswick Campus. A native of Wayne County, Ted was raised in Savannah and graduated from Savannah High. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech and was a retired civil Engineer from Georgia D.O.T. in 1984. He was an International Consultant in Civil Engineering. He also served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of St. Simons First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his loving wife Madge McKenzie of St. Simons Island; two sons Michael McKenzie and wife Denisha, and Matthew McKenzie, a grandson Benjamin McKenzie, a granddaughter Meagan McKenzie all of St. Simons Island; two brothers, Edward and Julian McKenzie of Savannah; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Simons Firs t Methodist Church with Interment to follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Jim Smith and the Rev. Tom Stroud will officiate. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Simons First United Methodist Church.
