Warren E. Swain - BAXLEY - Warren E. Swain , 86, died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Swain was born January 5, 1924 in Appling County to the late Warren Eli Swain, Sr., and the late Lillie Viola Morris Swain. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Swain was former owner of Swain Funeral Home and was a veteran of War World II serving in the U.S. Air Force as an Armorer Gunner 612, on a B-17 Bomber, he completed 35 missions over Northern France, Germany & Central Europe. He was a Charter member of the Appling Exchange Club & the Appling County Country Club and a member of the American Legion. Mr. Swain was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth White Swain. Survivors are 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley and Pam Swain, Jimmy and Tami Swain and Joey and Karen Swain all of Baxley; 6 grandchildren, Myra Swain Wetzler, Justin Swain, Emily Swain Pool, Lance Swain, Jim Swain , Jordy Swain and 7 great-grandchildren, Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 4,2010 from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home.
