Revelations 2:10 states "be thou faithful unto death, and I will give you a crown of life". Rev. Stokes,III truly earned his crown of life and all the beautiful jewels in his crown by the many lives he touched. To the family's, I pray that you will find comfort in knowing that Rev. Stokes,III was a brave soldier on the battlefield for the Lord and was a strong defender of his faith. Remember that God has his arms open wide, offering you peaceful compassion at this time of sorrow. Know that God will forever sustain you. I submit your steadfast endurance constantly in my prayers.

Prayerfully C/O '56 A.E. Beach High School.

Mrs. Stokes, Dr. Bowles and the entire Stokes Family

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Rev. Stokes was a dear friend to the Adams Family. I remember him when I was a child talking with my father, Floyd, about a wrestling promotion. Throughout the years he would often come by The Herald just to check on the family. And when he stopped getting around he would call us. He would always ask about my grandmother Wilhelmina, my uncle Carl, and my mother Freddie Mae. He would always tease me and my husband about having more children. He was such a kind man to us and we all will miss him dearly. May you find strength in the Lord during your hours of bereavement.

Dr. Stokes, Dr. Ethel Bowles and families. I was saddened to learn of Dr. Franklin Stokes passing last night. I first met him in Glennville when he judged a Middle School beauty contest and later when I worked daughter, Ethel, at 208 Bull St and Dr. Stokes at Anderson Street School with the SEARCH program. He was a man of vision and a true leader and he'll be missed.

May God hold all of you in the palm of His hand until you are all together again.

God bless you all.
