Myrtle Pino Obituary

Myrtle Marie Pino, age 89, died peacefully on January 30, 2025, at Sandstone Healthcare Center in Sandstone, Minnesota surrounded by her family.

Myrtle is survived by her children, Debbie Taylor, David (Diane) Pino, Dale Pino (Ann), Diane (Scott) Peterson, and her sister Toots (Norm) Marohn and grandchildren Gregg, Kyle, Erik, Chandra, Gavin, Beth, Brea, Brittany, Austin and Barrett and great grandchildren.

Myrtle was born on January 2, 1936, in Cross Lake, Minnesota to Lucian Oliver and Ruby (Thelen) Oliver. She went to Cambridge high school and later married Donald A. Pino on June 6, 1954. They resided in Hamel, Crystal, Maple Grove, Hayward Cambridge and Sandstone. She worked as a Buyer for children's clothing, ServiceMaster and cleaned homes. She had a deep passion for sports including the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Twins. She enjoyed playing and coaching softball.

Early in life Myrtle was involved in 4H, and in later years, played and coached softball. Myrtle loved planning activities and entertaining everyone. Known by many as "Myrtle the Turtle". Myrtle loved and cared very deeply for her family and friends. She will truly be missed.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Askov with Minister Clara Edin, SAM officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. at the church. Burial will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery following the service.
